The Epidemiology Teaching and Research Office was founded in 1960. In 1999, it merged with the Health Microbiology Teaching and Research Office to form a new Epidemiology Teaching and Research Office. In 2005, it merged with the Health Statistics Teaching and Research Office to form the current Epidemiology and Health Statistics Teaching and Research Office. This discipline began recruiting master's students in 1984 and obtained the right to confer a master's degree in Epidemiology and Health Statistics in 1993. In 2000, he participated in the establishment and research work of the Genomic Medicine Research Center of Jilin University. In 2003, he was granted a doctoral degree authorization point in medical genomics, a second level discipline independently established by the school. In 2004, he began recruiting doctoral students. In 2006, the Education Department of Jilin Province approved Epidemic and Health Statistics as a key discipline.

  The teaching and research department is mainly responsible for teaching epidemiology, health statistics, and health microbiology at multiple levels in multiple majors, including preventive medicine (including hygiene inspection and food hygiene), clinical medicine five-year program, clinical medicine seven-year program, graduate student, international student, MPH, and adult education. Mainly engaged in research on molecular genetic epidemiology, chronic disease epidemiology, mental health epidemiology, environmental epidemiology, and the application of statistics in medical field research. In the past 5 years, I have undertaken more than 30 national and provincial level projects, published more than 300 academic papers, and won more than 10 scientific research and teaching achievement awards at all levels and levels. Cultivate 87 master's students with scientific degrees, 10 doctoral students, 98 master's students in public health, and 1 international master's student. At the same time, I am responsible for some testing work at the Health Testing Center of Jilin University, including food microbiological testing, cosmetics microbiological testing, water quality microbiological testing, indoor air quality testing, etc. In addition, the teaching and research department provides consultation and services on medical statistical issues such as medical research design and data statistical analysis.
