Research center for medical big data is a non-entity research institution affiliated to the Norman Bethune Health Science Center of Jilin University. The Center is an academic and service platform featured with teaching, research and service, based on disciplines such as medical informatics of School of public health, integrating related resources from the Norman Bethune Health Science Center and Jilin University, taking the research on medical big data as the core of the teaching.

Missions:

1. Research on clinical Informatics, nursing informatics, medical informatics, medical informatics standards, data mining of electronic medical records and medical knowledge base, centered on medical big data.
2. Specific subject investigation and intelligence provision, decision support for healthcare, research and hospital management, around key issues, difficult problems, hot issues, and cut-edge issues in medical development, scientific research, clinical practice, hospital reform and management.
3. Staff training for undergraduate students, graduate students from school of public health and related staff from hospital departments combining with research projects and work.

2. Standardization system and technology for processing and using medical big data

3. Medical Knowledge base system construction based on linked data and Visualization

4. Real-time acquisition, fusion and processing technology for medical information in network environment

5. Medical information interaction, information resource sharing and intelligent guarantees

6. Construction of health information system, information standard and information security

7. Key technologies including "clouds, big data, internet of things, and mobile healthcare" and their application in medical domain
