At 9:00 a.m. on January 12, 2022, the project of "Global Competency Improvement Plan for Jida Students - Winter Holiday Course Training Plan" held by the School of Public Health of Jilin University was officially launched on the ZOOM platform. The project aims to broaden students' international vision, help students improve the application of research methods and the cultivation of scientific research thinking, and meet the international needs of public health talent training. It sets the core content of the course from the aspects of scientific and technological paper writing, global health socialization trend, etc.

This lecture invited Karen J Goodman, a tenured professor at the University of Alberta, Canada. Professor Karen J Goodman taught the students the basic concepts of causal inference in epidemiological research and the basic methods of disease identification of causal relationship between risk factors. More than 40 senior undergraduate and graduate students attended the online lecture. This online lecture was hosted by Professor Li Hui of the Social Medicine Teaching and Research Office of our college, and invited Professor Ren Shuping of the Environmental Health Teaching and Research Office of our college, Professor Jin Lina of the Epidemiology Teaching and Research Office, and Associate Professor Feng Jia of the Medical Information Teaching and Research Office to stay in the class to ensure the smooth progress of the course.

This all-English teaching has improved students' English communication ability and expanded their knowledge. Students have benefited a lot from future research and development direction selection.

The project will successively invite experts from world famous schools to carry out a series of lectures to bring students cutting-edge information on the development of public health and improve their international vision in the field of public health and preventive medicine research.
