From May 15 to 16, the finals of the 10th medical technology skills competition for Chinese university students, jointly sponsored by the Ministry of education and Tianjin Municipal People's government, jointly organized by Tianjin Medical University and Tianjin University of traditional Chinese medicine, and assisted by Peking University, Beijing University of traditional Chinese medicine and Capital Medical University, were held in Tianjin, 21 colleges and universities with preventive medicine, including our university, participated in the finals. The school of public health of our university advanced to the finals with the first prize of northeast North China division competition and won the bronze medal of preventive medicine.

The theme of this competition is "advocating virtue, cultivating excellent talents, attaching equal importance to both China and the west, building a healthy China". A total of 497 teams from 211 colleges and universities entered the competition. After the screening of the regional competition, 142 teams from 81 colleges and universities entered the finals. In order to meet the new challenges posed by the epidemic situation, the competition added TCM, preventive medicine and nursing courses on the basis of the original clinical medicine. The competition consists of five-year track for clinical medicine, eight year track for clinical medicine, track for traditional Chinese medicine, track for preventive medicine and track for nursing. The competition aims at serving the great health and hygiene. It adheres to the principle of equal emphasis on medical ethics and skills, Chinese medicine and Western medicine, medical care collaboration, clinical public health integration, medical engineering, arts and science. The competition includes two stages: the division competition and the finals. The division competition was completed on April 10, and our school advanced to the final with the first prize of northeast North China division competition! In the final stage, the college sent four students, including Zhang Jianli, Wang Xin, Gao Yizhen and Zhang Huiling, who majored in preventive medicine of grade 2016, to participate in the competition in Tianjin Medical University. The final competition is divided into three parts: the silver prize competition, the gold prize competition and the champion competition. The silver prize competition adopts the "site assessment" method, which mainly investigates the students' mastery of the basic clinical skills and basic public health operation skills, such as "basic clinical skills", "personal protection", "sample collection and on-site detection", "sanitary treatment"; There are two stations in the silver medal competition: "basic theory test of public health" and "data processing analysis and epidemiological investigation"; The championship was conducted by scenario simulation. The students of our college participated in the competition calmly and completed the examination of each station excellently, but they failed to enter the top 8 in the silver medal competition and won the bronze medal of preventive medicine.

Bethune Medical Department and college attached great importance to the competition, and leaders went to the preparation site to guide training and condole the participants for many times; When he returned, Jin Xianglei, Vice Minister of Bethune's medical department, Li Zhiguo, deputy director of the medical education office, and Liu Yawen, President of the college, personally met him at the airport and affirmed his achievements. On May 19, the college organized 12 students and some instructors who participated in the contest to hold a seminar on the summary and teaching of the contest.
