On the morning of May 23, Professor Li Gang of the Chinese University of Hong Kong was appointed as Professor Tang Aoqing of Jilin University at the lecture hall on the third floor of the school of public health. The leaders and teachers who attended the appointment ceremony were: Professor Li Juan, former president of the school of public health, Comrade Zhao Guoli, Secretary of the Party committee of the school of public health, Professor Yu Xihe, vice president of the school of public health, Comrade Wei Guozhi, vice president of the school of public health, as well as all the teachers and graduate students of the departments of preventive medicine and radiology. The appointment ceremony was presided over by Professor Liu Jinyu, assistant to the president and Distinguished Professor Tang Aoqing of Jilin University.

First of all, Professor Liu Jinyu made a brief introduction to Professor Li Gang's scientific research experience. Professor Li Gang graduated from the Fourth Military Medical University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in medicine. He received a doctor's degree in medicine from Oxford University in 1997. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Oxford University from 1998 to 1999. He was a lecturer and senior lecturer in the Department of orthopedics, School of Medicine, Queen's University of Belfast from 1999 to 2004, From 2004 to 2009, Professor of cancer and cell biology research center, Queen's University of Belfast, UK. Since 2009, Professor of orthopedics and traumatology, Chinese University of Hong Kong School of medicine, and researcher of Li Ka Shing Institute of health, Chinese University of Hong Kong School of medicine. Research interests include stem cell biology, basic principles of fracture healing, biological principles of limb lengthening technology, tissue engineering and clinical application of stem cells. Professor Li Gang has published more than 190 SCI papers, 15 monographs and 3 textbooks.

Then, Secretary Zhao Guoli presented the letter of appointment to Professor Li Gang, and expressed warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to Professor Li Gang for joining the school of public health on behalf of the college. He said that the college is in a critical period of double first-class construction, so talent training and talent introduction are crucial. Professor Li Gang joined the school of public health at this time, which will play an important role in promoting the talent training, discipline construction and scientific research of the school. Later, President Li Juan also delivered a speech at the appointment ceremony: she congratulated Professor Li Gang on his achievements in the field of stem cells, and pointed out that through cooperation with Professor Li Gang, combining stem cell pharmacology with toxicology can significantly improve the discipline status of toxicology in our hospital. Finally, Professor Li Gang said that he was very honored to be employed as Professor Tang Aoqing of Jilin University, and expressed his willingness to exchange some of the latest research progress in stem cell field with teachers and students of the whole college, so as to promote talent cultivation and discipline construction of the college.

After the appointment ceremony, Professor Li Gang gave an academic lecture entitled "secrets of human fetal mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) allied replicative sensors of human adult MSCs, and promoters bone formation and consolidation" to all teachers and students of the hospital, introducing that human fetal mesenchymal stem cell secretory factor can alleviate the replicative aging of adult bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, It can promote bone formation, make the teachers and students of the whole hospital have a further understanding of the clinical application of stem cells, broaden the scientific research vision of the teachers and students of the whole hospital, and improve the academic level of the college. Professor Li Gang's lecture has a strong response among the teachers and students of the whole hospital.
