Sponsored by the people's Health Publishing House and undertaken by the medical information credit association of the Chinese Medical Association, the meeting of editors in chief of the third round of planning textbooks for health information management / medical informatics major in national colleges and universities was held in Beijing from May 7 to 9, 2021. Professor Cao Jindan, Professor Zhang Yunqiu, Professor Wang Wei and Professor Mou Dongmei from the clinical research department of Bethune first hospital attended the meeting.

The national planning textbook of health information management / medical informatics specialty in Colleges and universities is the "14th five year plan" textbook of National Health Commission. The people's Health Publishing House has set up the third national planning Textbook Review Committee for health information management / medical informatics major in Colleges and universities. Professor Wang Wei of our university was elected as the vice chairman of this textbook review committee, and Professor Cao Jindan was elected as the member. There are 11 kinds of textbooks planned to be compiled and published. The chief editor, deputy chief editor and editorial board members of each textbook are selected after the recommendation of the party organization of the applicant's unit and discussion of the evaluation committee. Professor Cao Jindan was employed as the chief editor of public health informatics, Professor Zhang Yunqiu and Professor Mou Dongmei were employed as the deputy chief editors of medical information collection and utilization and information analysis methods and medical applications, respectively, and Associate Professor Li Yuling and Feng Jia of the school of public health were employed as the editorial board members of the other two textbooks. The meeting discussed the guiding ideology, principles, contents and requirements of this round of textbook revision. This round of textbooks will be published in the autumn of 2022.

In addition to experts from more than 20 institutions of higher learning, including Central South University, Huazhong University of science and technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University, Zhengzhou University, Nantong University, China Medical University, Capital Medical University, Nanjing Medical University, Chongqing Medical University, Shanxi Medical University and Guizhou Medical University, there are also experts from the National Health Commission, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing Medical University, Nanjing Medical University, Chongqing Medical University, Shanxi Medical University and Guizhou Medical University Leaders and experts from China Academy of traditional Chinese medicine, China Center for Disease Control and prevention, China Health Education Center, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, etc. Wang Xuening, chairman / Secretary of the Party committee of the people's Health Publishing House, and Zhu Shuanglong, deputy editor in chief, attended the meeting.

The Department of medical informatics of School of public health will take this round of textbook compilation as an opportunity to further improve the teaching level and teaching ability, and promote the development of medical information discipline and specialty of Jilin University to a higher level.
