Research interests: safety of drinking water, biological toxicity and its mechanisms of exogenous toxicants.
Academic Background and Achievements:
Dr. Shuhua Zhao was awarded bachelor degree by Norman Bethune University of Medical Science in 1985, and doctor degree on health toxicology by Jilin University in 2009. From March 2012, she was elected the dean of Experimental Education Center of Preventive Medicine in School of Public Health of Jilin University.
She in recent years supervised and accomplished more than 20 research projects that granted by Environmental Protection Department of Jilin Province, Health Department of Jilin Province, Science and Technology Department of Changchun, National Natural Science Foundation, the 973 Project. She also jointly contributed to more than 10 other projects with other research institutes of Jilin Province. These projects mainly concern the toxic effects on main organs of organics in the drinking water, the impacts of chloride snow melt agents on the environment and plant seeds, hepatotoxicity and cardio-toxicity of nano-material on animals.
She published more than 30 papers based on the projects, 3 out of which are SCI-indexed and co-authored 5 books of national and provincial standards.
She is currently the registered specialist of Committee of Health and Safety of Jilin Province and Changchun City. She has many times been leading in the assessments of occupational hazards of various construction projects.
