History

Department of Social Medicine & Health Service Management, School of Public Health, Jilin University, was established in 1991. The mission of the Department of Social Medicine and Health Service Management is to advance the public's health through the development, 

implementation and evaluation of effective health and social policies. The department emphasizes the importance of sound management and creative leadership in finding effective and equitable solutions.

    In December 2000, the Department started to offer Master Degree program in Social Medicine and Health Management and Doctoral program in January 2006. In September 2009, the Department began to offer post-doc program in Social Medicine and Health Management.Each year, the Master Degree program enrolls about 10 candidates, Doctoral Degree program enrolls about 5 candidates, postdoc 5 to 8 candidates.

Staff

We have an experienced and distinctive teaching group with academic attainments. Full-time staff is 7, including 2 professors, 2 associate professor, 3 lecturers. In addition, we invited some senior administrative staff in hospital, CDC, and Ministry of  Health as part-time teachers.
