On May 21, 2025, the 35th session and the handover ceremony of the Young Scholars Association (YSA) at the School of Public Health, Jilin University, were successfully held in the second-floor Radiobiology Conference Room.

The handover ceremony was attended by Secretary of the Party Committee Liu Jinchao, Associate Dean Professor Wang Juan, and Professor Liu Jinyu. The ceremony was presided over by Associate Dean Wang Juan. Professor Yang Shuman, the first-term President of the YSA, comprehensively summarized the work since the establishment of the YSA in 2019 and expressed his hope that the new team would continue to carry forward the spirit of innovation and contribute to the high-quality development of the School. Subsequently, Secretary Liu Jinchao fully affirmed the work of the first-term YSA, emphasizing that the Young Scholars Association is an important platform for the growth and development of young faculty members. He hoped that the new members would continue to unite and collaborate, leverage the role of the YSA, and promote interdisciplinary exchanges. Associate Dean Wang Juan stated in her remarks that the handover ceremony is an important measure for the School to strengthen the development of the young faculty team, and that in the future, the working mechanism will be further optimized to provide young faculty members with more opportunities for exchange and cooperation. At this conference, He Huan was appointed as the President of the second-term YSA, with Zhang Yuezhu, Pang Bo, and Bai Wei serving as Vice Presidents.

The 35th academic exchange activity of the YSA was held as scheduled after the handover ceremony, hosted by the new President He Huan. The exchange was conducted under the framework of the Ministry of Education's Joint Construction Project for High-Level Public Health Schools between Jilin University and Xinjiang Medical University, and was held in a hybrid format (online and offline). More than 20 young faculty members and graduate students from both schools participated. This academic event invited Associate Professor Pan Lang, a newly recruited Tang Aoqing Young Scholar at our School, to share his research under the title "Guanine Oxidation Repaired by OGG1: From Molecular Mechanisms to Disease Intervention," presenting his recent research findings on the epigenetic regulatory role of 8-oxoGua and OGG1 in pulmonary inflammatory diseases. Subsequently, the attending young faculty members engaged in lively discussions on Associate Professor Pan Lang's research, creating a vibrant academic atmosphere. This event promoted academic exchange and cooperation among young faculty members and established a good platform for interdisciplinary research.
