In order to improve students' awareness of experimental safety and strengthen experimental safety management, our college held a lecture on laboratory safety training in the conference hall on the third floor of our college on the afternoon of June 3. Mr. Zhao Shuhua of preventive medicine experimental teaching center and Mr. Zhen Qing of epidemiology and health statistics teaching and Research Office were invited to explain laboratory safety precautions and protective measures to all graduate students (Masters and doctors) of natural sciences in our hospital. In response to the novel coronavirus pneumonia control requirements, the seminar is divided into two parts: online and offline.

In this lecture, Mr. Zhao Shuhua explained in detail the precautions for the operation of the experimental area and laboratory, the safety standards for fire prevention and electricity use in the laboratory, the correct handling of experimental instruments after use, the safe use and storage of laboratory chemicals, and the disposal and management of wastes. In the lecture, Mr. Zhao Shuhua repeatedly stressed the importance of safe operation, "quoting a sentence often said by President Liu Yawen," if there is no safety, what is academic? "He hoped that students would pay attention to the problem of experimental safety."

In the lecture, Mr. Zhen Qing introduced the experimental accidents in recent years. He hoped that the students could learn from them, improve their awareness of risk control, implement them carefully, and emphasize that experimental safety is closely related to everyone. In addition, Mr. Zhen Qing also pointed out the common security risks and misunderstanding in laboratory management in our hospital, and finally listed ten measures to strengthen the management of comprehensive laboratories, which were: 1; 2. The instrument should be used by people; 3. Risk assessment of new experimental projects; 4. The storage of toxic, corrosive and volatile reagents should be standardized; 5. Check the potential risk of power consumption; 6. Normalization of laboratory health management; 7. Strictly implement garbage classification; 8. Strengthen personal protection; 9. Carry out safety training regularly; 10. Strengthen the risk standard consciousness education. I hope that our graduate students will pay attention to it and seriously implement the ten measures.

Finally, vice president Wei Guozhi summarized the lecture and put forward that "everyone is responsible for laboratory safety". Attaching importance to safety is not only responsible for one's own life, but also the embodiment of family and social responsibility. Our college attaches great importance to the problem of experimental safety and the cultivation of students' safety awareness. In the future, we will continue to strengthen the monitoring and management of experimental safety, improve students' safety awareness, and add a line of defense for the experimental safety of all teachers and students in our college.
