In order to effectively carry out the recommendation and selection of master-doctor continuous study candidates at the School of Public Health, these measures are formulated in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Measures for the Recommendation and Selection of Master-Doctor Continuous Study Candidates at Jilin University and the requirements of the Graduate School's Notice on the Recommendation and Selection of Master-Doctor Continuous Study Candidates from the 2024 Master's Cohort.

1.Application Requirements

(1) Applicants must be full-time non-directed master's students who were admitted to Jilin University in 2024 through the National Unified Examination or by recommendation with exemption from the entrance examination.

(2) Applicants must have completed all master's coursework and passed all courses on their first attempt.

(3) Applicants must demonstrate strong interest in academic research, possess solid innovative thinking and research capabilities, and meet the physical and mental health requirements stipulated by the state and the admitting institution.

(4) Applicants must have written recommendation letters from at least two professors (or experts with equivalent professional titles) in the relevant disciplinary field.

2.Application and Selection Procedures

(1) Candidates applying for the master-doctor continuous study program for the 2026 doctoral admission must complete their online application through the Jilin University Admission Website (http://zsb.jlu.edu.cn/). The application period is from November 15, 2025 to November 30, 2025.

(2) Applicants must submit their intended doctoral major and supervisor through the Graduate Management System. The application will be processed for the master-doctor continuous study assessment only after it has been confirmed and approved by the applicant's master's supervisor, the master's training unit, and the intended doctoral supervisor in the system. Applicants are required to complete and submit the "Master-Doctor Continuous Study Application" in the designated section of the system. The deadline is December 15, 2025.

3. Assessment Content

The assessment will be conducted in the form of a comprehensive interview, with a total score of 100 points. Each interview shall last no less than 30 minutes and will be recorded in both audio and video formats. The assessment includes the following components:

(1) Academic Background Review: Evaluation of undergraduate academic performance, master's thesis research progress, achievements and gains, and the applicant's understanding of the intended doctoral major.

(2) Research Capability Assessment: Evaluation of the applicant's ability to analyze and solve problems using basic theories of the discipline, mastery of medical research methodologies, research plans for doctoral studies, expected outcomes, and innovative ideas.

(3) Comprehensive Quality Assessment (including oral expression): Evaluation of the applicant's foreign language proficiency, ideological and political character, psychological status, teamwork awareness, organizational and collaborative skills, dedication, as well as knowledge and breadth of vision beyond the specialized field.

(4) Upon completion of the assessment, the assessment results and the proposed admission list will be published on the School of Public Health website for a public notice period of three days.

4. Work Schedule

Interview Period: December 16, 2025 – December 31, 2025

5. Miscellaneous

(1) The Graduate School will conduct a final review of the master-doctor continuous study candidates recommended by the training units. Candidates who pass the review and are not objected to during the public notice period will be officially designated as Jilin University's master-doctor continuous study candidates for 2026, and shall complete the admission formalities in accordance with the requirements of the Jilin University 2026 Doctoral Admission Brochure.

(2) Master-doctor continuous study candidates will enter the doctoral training phase directly without producing a master's thesis. After completing the required credits and all phases prescribed in the doctoral training program and successfully defending their doctoral dissertation, they will be awarded a doctoral degree directly.
